Candida diet

Candida albicans is a yeast that lives in either the digestive tract or the vagina. People that have this condition will need to maintain safe candida levels and part of doing so requires going on the candida diet. If you do not take proper precautions the yeast could develop to be much more severe so it is important to plan ahead of time.

Various things could affect the condition such as pregnancy, diabetes, food allergies, and diets containing a lot of sugar. With a candida diet you will want to avoid foods with a lot of sugar as they can make the yeast grow at a quicker rate. Your carbohydrates consumed each day will also need to be kept relatively low (likely under 60 grams each day) but it will vary by person.

A candida diet is not necessarily a low carbohydrate diet but it does require a lot of low carbohydrate foods such as chicken, turkey, fish, vegetables, and a few different kinds of nuts. You want to make sure that you are not eating anything that will help promote the growth of the yeast at all. Therefore it would be rather obvious that you should stay far away from foods with any yeast contents (bread, cheese, mushrooms, beer, etc).

How Long Does The Diet Last?
There is no specific amount of time that you will be required to go on the candida diet. The amount of time that you will have to stay on the diet will depend mostly on the symptoms of the yeast. When the symptoms start to go away or become less noticeable then you may be close to coming off the diet. If the symptoms stay the same or worsen then it either means that you must remain on the diet for a while longer or you are not following the diet as instructed.

Most people that have success with the candida diet have stated that it has taken at least a month for the results to start to show. For some people it may even take a couple of months for any results to show though as it is a person by person condition. After you have some positive results though you can start to get off the diet. When returning to a normal diet you will need to go through a slow introduction phase so you can change to the new diet in a healthy manner.

What To Avoid When On The Candida Diet
As we already know by now, there are a lot of foods that you should avoid. There are also some foods that can be consumed in moderation but you will want to limit the amount of consumption of those foods. Here are a few examples of foods that you should try to stay away from: fruit, bread, pastries, candy, vinegar, mushrooms, milk, butter, and other dairy products.

There are many other foods that should be avoided or limited so find a full list to make sure you do not make any mistakes when planning the candida diet for yourself. Basically the most important stuff to avoid would be foods with sugar or yeast as ingredients but there are still some other types of foods that you should stay away from.

Also remember that your diet should not have too many carbohydrates. Even though our body needs carbohydrates for energy, too many is not necessarily a good thing. You may also want to try to get more complex carbohydrates in your diet as they are much healthier for you. If you follow the tips provided in this article there should be no complications with creating an effective candida diet.
