Jubilee Awards

Menurut situs internet Virtual Israel pada 14 Oktober 1998, Perdana Menteri Benyamin Netanyahu menganugerahkan penghargaan tertinggi dari “Negara Israel” kepada sekelompok tokoh bisnis internasional. Jubilee Awards nama penghargaan itu, menandai hari ulang tahun negara Zionis itu yang ke-50. Tujuannya untuk menghargai tokoh-tokoh dan perusahaan itu atas usaha terbaik mereka memperkuat ekonomi Israel, melalui penanaman modal dan hubungan dagang.

Dampak Pemboikotan Produk Zionis
Harian bisnis berbahasa Ibrani ‘The Marker’ merilis laporan tentang pengaruh gerakan boikot produk Israel terhadap kinerja perusahaan eksportir di negara Zionis itu. Laporan tersebut berdasarkan polling yang dilakukan lembaga Israel Union Industrialist dengan melibatkan 90 perusahaan Israel dari berbagai sektor, mulai dari perusahaan teknologi tinggi, konstruksi, tekstil dan perusahaan yang memproduksi bahan makanan.
Polling menunjukkan, 21 persen dari para eksportir Israel mengakui secara langsung terkena dampak gerakan boikot produk Israel yang diserukan kembali awal tahun 2009 bersamaan dengan agresi brutal Israel ke Jalur Gaza bulan Januari lalu.
Gerakan boikot ini dilakukan oleh seluruh warga Palestina yang tersebar berbagai pelosok dunia, para aktivis kemanusiaan dan organisasi-organisasi perdamaian yang mengecam kekejaman Israel di Palestina. Mereka menggelar kampanye dan aksi massa untuk menyebarluaskan gerakan boikot produk Israel sebagai bentuk protes atas tindakan sewenang-wenang Israel terhadap rakyat Palestina.
Sebagian kelompok menyerukan boikot seluruh produk Israel, kelompok lainnya hanya terbatas pada boikot produk-produk Israel yang berasal dari pemukiman-pemukiman Yahudi dan perusahaan-perusahaan yang mengambil keuntungan dari penjajahan Israel di tanah Palestina.
Para aktivis melakukan gerakan boikot terhadap Israel, terinspirasi dari gerakan menentang apartheid di Afrika Selatan pada era tahun 1980-an. Mereka mengatakan, ada kesamaan antara sistem apartheid di Afrika Selatan dan kebijakan diskriminatif yang diterapkan Israel di tanah Palestina. Israel misalnya membuat aturan-aturan yang mendiskriminasikan warga Arab Palestina, membuat pos-pos pemeriksaan ilegal di wilayah Palestina, mengusir warga Palestina dari rumah dan tanah-tanah mereka.
“Apartheid diberlakukan dan sudah menguratakar pada rezim kolonial Israel. Rezim ini mendirikan negara hanya untuk orang-orang Yahudi baik secara de jure maupun de facto. Tindakan itu termasuk menerapkan berbagai mekanisme yang digunakan sebagai pembenaran atas praktek-praktek apartheid yang ditandai dengan pemindahan paksa populasi masyarakat setempat, penguasaan wilayah, eksploitasi sumber daya manusia, pelecehan dan pembunuhan massal,” demikian penjelasan organisasi Stop the Wall, organisasi yang menentang pembangunan tembok pemisaha Israel yang dibangun di sepanjang wilayah Tepi Barat.
Sejumlah perusahaan yang diboikot adalah Motorola yang memproduksi alat pendorong roket-roket jenis M80 buatan Israel, Caterpillar yang memproduksi buldoser D9 yang digunakan Israel untuk menghancurkan rumah-rumah warga Palestina, perusahaan Connex dan Alstom yang memenangkan tender pembangunan jalur kereta cepat yang melintasi kawasan-kawasan Palestina di Yerusalem Timur. Untuk membangun jalur kereta itu, Israel juga menggusur rumah-rumah rakyat Palestina tanpa memberikan kompensasi. Perusahaan lainnya yang diboikot adalah Agrexco, perusahaan Israel yang mengekspor buah-buahan dan sayuran dengan menggunakan merk ‘Carmel’. Buah-buahan dan sayur-sayuran itu ditanam petani Israel di tanah-tanah milik warga Palestina di Tepi Barat yang dirampas pemerintah Israel untuk dijadikan pemukiman.
Sementara itu, para petani di Israel mulai merasakan dampak boikot yang dilakukan sejumlah negara di dunia sebagai bentuk protes atas agresi keji militer Israel ke Jalur Gaza. Mereka mengatakan, sejumlah negara dan distributor dari Arab dan Eropa telah membatalkan pesanan hasil-hasil pertanian dari para petani Israel.
“Kami mengekspor buah kesemak dan karena peperangan, sejumlah negara dan distrubutor membatalkan pesanan mereka. Paket-paket buah yang siap ekspor itu kini menumpuk di gudang dan ini menyebabkan kerugian besar buat kami,” kata Giora Almagor, seorang petani buah pada surat kabar Israel Yediot Aharonot.
“Makin lama buah-buah itu menumpuk di gudang, kualitasnya akan makin menurun. Kami juga harus membayar biaya pendingin buah-buah tersebut dan biayanya cukup besar,” sambung Almagor.
Menurutnya, banyak pengapalan buah ke Yordan dibatalkan. Sejumlah negara di Skandinavia juga menyatakan membatalkan pesanan mereka akibat agresi Israel yang masih berlangsung di Jalur Gaza. Direktur Organisasi Petani Buah di Israel, ilan Eshel mengatakan, pembatalan pesanan dari negara-negara Skandinavia antara lain dilakukan importir dari Denmark, Norwegia dan Denmark.
Beberapa perusahaan Inggris juga membatalkan kesepakatan dagang dengan sejumlah perusahaan-perusahaan Israel. “Ada dua atau tiga perusahaan informasi teknologi yang menolak proposal bisnis yang diajukan perusahaan-perusahaan Israel,” kata atase perdagangan Israel di Inggris, Gil Erez.
Sejumlah penulis Inggris juga sudah banyak yang menulis artikel berisi seruan boikot produk Israel sebagai bentuk protes atas agresi Israel ke Jalur Gaza. Di Turki, persatuan kerjasama Turki mengumumkan embargo terhadap semua bentuk pembiyaan dari perusahaan Israel. Di Malaysia, para pengusaha dan pebisnis di sana sudah menyebarkan kampanye boikot produk Israel dan AS.
Petani menyesali peperangan yang dikobarkan pemerintahnya di Gaza. Para petani Israel mengkhawatirkan makin meluasnya gerakan boikot ini. “Bisnis kami berjalan lancar, sampai akhirnya perang ini terjadi. Semuanya menjadi buruk dan suara-suara yang menyerukan boikot produk Israel makin sering terdengar,” keluh Almagor

Raksasa Bisnis Malaysia di Indonesia

Hubungan Indonesia – Malaysia kembali memanas. Apalagi, setelah Menlu Malaysia siap mengeluarkan anjuran (travel advisory) kepada warganya untuk berhati-hati ke Indonesia jika demonstrasi anti Malaysia di Indonesia kian menjadi-jadi.
Pemicu perseteruan ini bermula dari penahanan tiga petugas Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Indonesia oleh Polisi Laut Malaysia (MPM) di perairan Tanjung Berakit, Bintan pada 13 Agustus 2010. Mereka ditangkap tidak lama setelah menahan tujuh nelayan Malaysia yang diduga kuat masuk wilayah kedaulatan RI secara ilegal.
Aksi penahanan itu berbuntut panjang. Aksi protes merebak. Bahkan, protes di depan Kedubes Malaysia pada Senin lalu berlanjut dengan melempar tinja dan menginjak-injak dan membakar kain yang mirip dengan bendera Malaysia, Jalur Gemilang. Rabu kemarin, protes keras juga berlangsung di Jakarta. Massa dari Benteng Demokrasi Rakyat (Bendera) berunjuk rasa di dua perusahaan besar Malaysia di Jakarta. Kantor perusahaan minyak Malaysia, Petronas di Jalan Sudirman dan kantor Bank CIMB di Jalan Gatot Subroto.
Pada Agustus tahun lalu, hubungan kedua negara juga memanas. Selain dipicu oleh Noordin M Top, gembong teroris asal Malaysia yang menjadi otak sejumlah ledakan bom di Indonesia, menghangatnya hubungan kedua negara juga disebabkan oleh aksi Malaysia yang mengklaim sejumlah warisan budaya milik Indonesia, termasuk Tari Pendet yang benar-benar asal Bali.
Berbeda dengan hubungan politik dan sosial kedua negara yang naik turun, di sektor bisnis jalinan kedua negara sudah sangat jauh. Bahkan, Malaysia sudah cukup jauh melangkah ke Indonesia. Malaysia telah merambah ke berbagai sektor bisnis strategis di Indonesia, mulai dari sektor telekomunikasi, perminyakan, perkebunan, perbankan, penerbangan, otomotif, jalan tol dan berbagai sektor bisnis lainnya.
Nama-nama perusahaan itu antara lain adalah XL Axiata, Petronas, CIMB Niaga, Maybank, Air Asia, Sime Darby, PLUS Express Way, Proton dan lainnya.
Mereka memanfaatkan pasar Indonesia yang sangat besar. Jumlah penduduk 237 juta jiwa merupakan target besar untuk menjaring keuntungan dari negeri ini, ketimbang jumlah penduduk Malaysia yang hanya 27 juta jiwa.
Berikut ini sejumlah profil singkat ekspansi grup bisnis Malaysia di Indonesia :
1. XL Axiata Tbk
XL Axiata yang dikenal dengan XL adalah salah satu operator seluler terbesar ketiga di Indonesia setelah PT Telkomsel dan PT Indosat. Bahkan, dalam bulan Ramadan ini, XL merupakan salah satu operator yang sangat agresif melakukan ekspansi, termasuk menjaring pelanggan baru. Kepemilikan saham XL saat ini mayoritas dipegang oleh raksasa telekomunikasi Malaysia, yakni Axiata Group Berhad (“Axiata Group”) melalui Axiata Investments (Indonesia) Sdn Bhd (dahulu Indocel Holding Sdn Bhd) (66,7%) dan sisanya Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) melalui Etisalat International Indonesia Ltd. (13,3%) serta publik (20%).
2. CIMB Niaga
CIMB Niaga adalah salah satu bank papan atas dan berada di urutan ke lima bank terbesar di Indonesia. CIMB Niaga yang merupakan penggabungan Bank Lippo dan Bank Niaga dikendalikan oleh perbankan asal Malaysia. Pemegang sahamnya adalah CIMB Group Sdn Bhd sebesar 56,1%, Santubong Ventures Sdn Bhd 16,65%, Greatville Pte Ltd 2,58%. Publik memiliki saham sekitar 24 persen.
3. Air Asia
Air Asia adalah salah satu maskapai penerbangan asal Malaysia. Maskapai yang mengklaim sebagai salah satu penerbangan murah ini melakukan ekspansi bisnis ke Indonesia dengan membuka rute-rute penerbangan ke sejumlah jalur gemuk di Indonesia.
4. Petronas
Petronas adalah perusahaan migas raksasa asal Malaysia yang melakukan ekspansi di Indonesia. Petronas bukan hanya ikut melakukan eksplorasi untuk menyedot minyak dan gas Indonesia, tetapi Petronas juga membuka jaringan yang melayani penjualan bahan bakar minyak melalui pembukaan sejumlah pom bensin.
5. Sime Darby
Sime Darby adalah grup bisnis perkebunan besar asal Malaysia hasil merger dari Kumpulan Guthrie, Golden Hope dan Sime Darby. Sebelum merger, Kumpulan Guthrie telah membeli ratusan ribu hektare perkebunan di Sumatra milik Grup Salim setelah diambilalih oleh Badan Penyehatan Perbankan Nasional (BPPN) sebagai bagian dari penyelesaian utang Grup Salim.
6. PT Bank Internasional Indonesia Tbk (BII)
BII adalah salah satu bank papan atas di Indonesia. Bank ini semula milik Grup Sinar Mas, belakangan diambilalih BPPN dan dilepas kepada konsorsium Sorak pada Desember 2003. Pada 30 September 2008, 55,51 persen saham Sorak diambilalih oleh Mayban Offshore Corporate Services (Labuan) Sdn. Bhd, anak perusahaan yang dimiliki sepenuhnya oleh Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank). Maybank adalah salah satu grup bisnis perbankan besar di Malaysia.

Detox diet

People are now a little more conscious of what they eat, which is what has led to the recent “detoxification hype.” Detoxification is the process by which the toxic qualities of a poison or toxin are reduced by the body. Primarily referred to as a treatment for alcoholism and drug addiction, it can also refer to herbs, diets, and other means to remove toxins from the body. Detoxification or “detox” refers to the action of removing or neutralizing the toxins in your body. It can be done in various ways such as a regular exercise, a spa massage, meditation, yoga and a body scrub. However, the most common and probably the easiest way is the detox diet.

A detox program is primarily recommended for people who are inactive, probably because the foods that they commonly eat are left undigested. However, this program is also for people who are overweight, as well as for those whose livers may be compromised due to over-absorption of additives and preservatives. This is a program which lessens chemicals absorbed in the body by means of eating foods that are organic. But using the results of Dr. Choi’s study you can cobble together an eating plan that helps you to avoid gout.



Gout Diet—Foods to Eat
While purine seems to be the enemy of gout sufferers everywhere, you don’t have to avoid every food that contains it. Here are some foods that are high in uric acid producing purine but that, according to Dr. Choi’s study, you can eat without worrying about getting gout:

The Lemonade Diet is the basis of the Master Cleanse fasting system, and it has become very popular in Hollywood. It was created by Stanley Burroughs, a now deceased naturopath. He created it to assist people in fasting and ridding their body of toxins.

In addition to the toxins released and removed by the Lemonade Diet, Burroughs also found that his diet could remove hardened materials that had deposited themselves in joints, it made the bloodstreams healthier of those who went on the diet, it helped them maintain normal blood pressure and helped them to lose weight. As with any other fast, it also cleanses the kidneys and digestive system and purifies glands.

The Lemonade Diet is a ten to forty day diet. During the diet you drink and eat nothing but a concoction of lemonade spiked with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. There is no sugar in the recipe (other than the sugars in the maple syrup) and the lemon juice in the recipe can be replaced by lime juice. Some people do experience constipation while on the diet, so there is a tea with herbal laxatives recommended within the diet that contains no calories and can help relieve the bowels.



According to the diet’s website, users will lose up to two pounds per day without any harmful side effects. Other media outlets state that some who have followed the diet have experienced side effects such as dizziness, nausea, vomiting and fainting. The proponents of the diet attribute these symptoms to the toxins that have been released by the kidneys and glands and that are now in the blood stream, waiting to be flushed out.

Dieters are encouraged to drink water consistently while on the diet, but no food or drink other than the tea and lemonade can be taken. Some who’ve tried the cleanse mention that it can cause halitosis. The website does not mention whether or not sugar free gum is acceptable.

Once you have been on the diet, feel cleansed and have lost some weight, there is a process to returning back to normal food. The diet is thought to break your addictions to sugar and fast food, so it is suggested you keep your diet wholesome even after you’ve transitioned back to regular foods.

Your first and second day off the diet, you will be restricted to drinking several 8 ounce glasses of orange juice. The third day off of the diet and you will be allowed to eat some raw fruits and veggies along with the 8 ounces of orange juice. Once you have passed your third day off the diet, you are allowed to eat normally but you are encouraged to eat a diet consisting of fruits, seeds and nuts for the remainder of your days.

There is no scientific evidence that the diet works, and there is no history of any clinical studies. The Food and Drug Administration has not released any information regarding the Lemonade Diet. The diet’s intention is to cleanse your body, and it markets its weight loss powers as a side benefit. Unless you change your eating habits permanently after you stop the Lemonade Diet, chances are you will gain the weight back in no time.
